GJIMT organized Annual African Students’ Meet 2025

African students from various institutions across North India participated
MOHALI: Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology, Phase 2, Mohali hosted the Annual African Students’ Meet 2025 at its campus. This vibrant gathering witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 200 African students from various institutions across North India, underscoring GJIMT's dedication to promoting cultural diversity and international collaboration within its academic community.

The event was honored by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Chief Guest Jean Asantewaah Kusi-Boadum, First Secretary Consular & Welfare) at the Ghana High Commission in New Delhi, and Guest of Honour Rukalya Mustapha Aliyu, Second Secretary Education & Migration at the Nigeria High Commission. Their attendance added significant prestige to the occasion, reflecting the strong ties between GJIMT and the African diplomatic community.

The day's proceedings commenced with an inspiring welcome address by Dr. Aneet Bedi, Director of GJIMT, who emphasized the institute's commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for international students. The event featured a rich tapestry of cultural performances, including soulful singing, dynamic dance routines, a vibrant fashion show, heartfelt poetry recitations, and engaging extempore competitions. These activities provided a platform for African students to showcase their artistic talents and celebrate their rich cultural heritage.

In addition to the cultural extravaganza, a series of sports activities were organized, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and teamwork among the participants. The highlight of the event was an electrifying performance of African folk music, which captivated the audience and created an atmosphere of joy and unity.

The celebration culminated in an award distribution ceremony, recognizing the outstanding contributions and performances of the students. The event concluded on a patriotic note with the rendition of the Indian National Anthem, symbolizing the harmonious blend of cultures and the institute's ethos of unity in diversity.

In his vote of thanks, Sh. J. S. Bedi, Chairman of Gian Jyoti Group of Institutions, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries, participants, and organizers.
