KCA Organized lecture on ‘Unveiling Journalism: The Process of Creating and Analyzing News Stories

AMRITSAR: The Journalism and Mass Communication Department of Khalsa College Amritsar organized a day-long lecture on ‘Unveiling Journalism: The Process of Creating and Analyzing News Stories ’. The eminent Journalist Prabhjit Singh was the speaker of the day.

Principal of the college Dr.A.K Kahlon congratulated the department for organizing such events and said that such media lectures are the most creative and rewarding for college media students. She also added that such kind of events prepare students to work in the industry of media and communication and they eventually learn to adapt themselves in perpetually evolving, dynamic journalism and communication industry.

Dr. Sania Marwaha, HOD, while proposing vote of thanks to the dignitary she said, we are grateful to have versatile journalist who had unstintingly given their time and attention to guide our students. While talking about the achievements of Prabhjit, Dr Sania said that Prabhjit has experience of more than 30 years in Journalism World. He has worked in United News of India for 13 Years and has contributed his services in Tribune, Hindustan Times, The Caravan and presently he is running his own you tube channel ‘STORY TALK’.

Prabhjit Singh, in his lecture highlighted the style of crafting news stories and also told about the facts and figures which are necessary for grounding any news story. He also explained about the importance of Headline, Introductory Paragraph , Body, Formatting and images required to build any news story. He also highlighted the concept of The ABCs of news writing to all the students and expounded about the significance of Accuracy, Brevity and Clarity in news organizations. On this special day Prof Surbhi, Prof Hary, Prof Jaskirat, Prof Bhawini, Prof Jahanvi and Prof Ashutosh were also present.
