DHARAMSALA: A massive landslide struck near the Gurudwara in Manikaran, Kullu district, on Sunday around 4 PM, causing a large tree to collapse onto six parked vehicles. Tragically, all six occupants of these vehicles lost their lives.
Deputy Commissioner Kullu, Torul S. Ravish, confirmed the incident, stating that six fatalities have been reported. The district administration and police are on-site, carrying out relief and rescue operations. Authorities have yet to identify the deceased, some of whom are believed to be tourists. With the assistance of locals, police have recovered the bodies from the wreckage.
Officials fear that more people may be trapped under the debris, and rescue efforts are ongoing. The exact number of injured persons remains unclear. Those with injuries have been rushed to the nearest hospital, while the critically injured have been referred to Kullu for advanced medical care.
