RBU Radiology dept hosts a program on Emerging Innovations & Future Trends in Multi-Detector Computed Tomography”

MOHALI: The Department of Radiology and Imaging Technology, University School of Physiotherapy and Radiology, Rayat Bahra University organised the 3rd Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on the theme of “Emerging Innovations & Future Trends in Multi-Detector Computed Tomography”.

Chancellor of RBU Gurvinder Singh Bahra, who is also Chairman of Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions and Bahra Hospital, and Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh appreciated the initiative of the Radiology Department in organising the CME.

Medical Superintendent, Professor and Head Hospital Administration & Biostatics PGI, Chandigarh and Mohan Bhagwat, President of Indian Society of Radiographers and Technologists (ISRT) were among the guests.

The CME was hosted by the Department of Radiology & Imaging Technology, University School of Physiotherapy & Radiology (USPR), in collaboration with the Indian Society of Radiographers and Technologists (ISRT), Chandigarh Chapter, and the Association of Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology (AMRIT), PGI Chandigarh.

The primary aim of the CME was to promote skill development and provide a refresher course for radiological technologists and students, enabling them to stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field. The event witnessed participation by approximately 250 delegates.

Dr Lalit Kumar Gupta, Prof. Cum Dean USPR, was Chairperson of the CME, Aditya Nagrath from PGIMER Chandigarh was the Organizing Chairperson.

Mamta Panda, Assistant Professor at Rayat Bahra University, took on the role of Organizing Secretary, while Varshdeep Kour, also from Rayat Bahra University, served as Co-Organizing Secretary.

Dr S.K. Bansal, Dean Academics at RBU, and Prof. (Dr) V. K. Banga, Director Quality Control of Education, RBU, were instrumental in the success of the event.

The scientific program was structured into two sessions, featuring eight eminent speakers, each contributing valuable insights into advancements and trends in radiology.

During the Valedictory Function, awards and certificates of participation were presented to distinguished contributors and students. Recognitions were given to universities such as Chitkara University, AarogyamInstitute of Paramedical and Allied Sciences, CT University, Teerthanker Mahaveer University, COER University, SGT University, and PGIMER Chandigarh for their active involvement. ISRT and AMRIT were honoured with mementos in appreciation of their efforts to advance medical imaging practices.

The concluded with cultural performances, followed by high tea and lunch, celebrating the CME’s success and emphasizing the collaborative spirit that enhances medical radiology at Rayat Bahra University.
