-Milk and sweets sellers are required to get license for their shops- ADC Deepak Babu Lal
KAITHAL: The administration led by ADC Deepak Babu Lal Karva has taken a serious view about the quality of food items and asked the concerned shopkeepers to follow provisions of food safety Act. while action is being taken against those who do not Maintain the food safety standards, shopkeepers have been made aware of getting a license. In pursuance to directives six establishments in the city have got their licenses made under the Food Safety Act.
Recently the Food Safety Department team had checked the food manufacturing establishments. In which many establishments were found working without any licence under the Food safety Act did following which notices were issued to these establishments and they were warned and asked to obtain licenses within the stipulated time period. In this series, related cases were heard on December 11 and six establishments submitted their licenses and other documents in the court. They assured the court that they would keep renewing their license in future.
ADC said that all food manufacturing establishments should take care of food safety standards and should not do any kind of adulteration in food items. Food Safety Act is in force in the state under the supervision of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. In such a situation, it is necessary for milk and sweets sellers to register their shops. Fine will be imposed on unregistered shops.
ADC said that one should not play with anyone's life by adulterating food items for the sake of few rupees. We should prepare only healthy and clean foods. Adulteration is a type of tax offense and action as per rules will be taken against those doing so. He called upon the shopkeepers to take special care of the quality at their shops. No item should be sold after the prescribed validity. The district administration also appeals to the general public to avoid adulterated items and be alert about their safety.
