AMRITSAR: The officials of the Central Jail Amritsar have caught the jail employee red-handed for supplying mobile phones on the pretext of tea.
Giving this information, Jail Subhand Mr. Himmat Sharma said that PESCO employee Jagdeep Singh arrived at the Deuri in the morning with a kettle full of tea. The employees posted on duty in the Deuri, Mr. Prabhdayal Singh Assistant Superintendent , Head Warder Harjit Kumar Petty , Constable Sukhwinder Singh, thoroughly searched the said PESCO employee Jagdeep Singh.
During the search, 2 mobile phones and 2 chargers hidden in the kettle held by the said PESCO employee were recovered. This information was immediately given to the senior officers and the Chief Officer , Police Station Islamabad , Amritsar. The said recovered mobile phones were sent to the Chief Officer, Police Station Islamabad and further legal action was initiated.
Mr. Hemant Sharma said that as per the guidelines received from the Chief Minister Punjab , Jail Minister and Additional Director General of Police (Jails) Punjab , Chandigarh, strict search operations are being conducted inside the jail and an intelligence system is being set up to identify black sheep among the guards.
