Army Institute of Law wins Moot Court competition

MOHALI: The two-day 8th RBU Moot Court Competition, a prestigious event was hosted by Rayat Bahra University, which brought together law students from across the nation to showcase their legal knowledge and advocacy skills.

In the fiercely contested competition, Army Institute of Law, Mohali, emerged as the Winner, showcasing outstanding legal acumen and advocacy skills. The Runner-up position was secured by St. Joseph Institute of Law, Bangalore, demonstrating commendable performance and dedication.

University Chancellor and chairman Rayat Bahra Group Gurvinder Singh Bahra appreciated the faculty of University School of Law for organising the event.

At the inaugural function, Justice Rakesh Garg , a former judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, was the Chief Guest. Prof Supinder Kaur, Professor of Law, Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh, Rajneesh Bansal, former District and Sessions Judge, and Advocate Shalinder Momi were Guests of Honour.

At the valedictory function Justice Darshan Singh, former Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, was the Chief Guest. He provided invaluable insights into the legal field, stressing the importance of practical legal training and ethical practice in the profession.

The event was graced by Guest of Honour Sukhpal Singh Gill, Joint Director of Prosecution, Punjab, who emphasised the role of legal advocacy in shaping a just society.

Guest of Honour Dr Devinder Singh Thakur, former Chairperson, Department of Laws, Punjab University, Chandigarh, inspired the students with his academic insights and motivated them to uphold the integrity of the legal profession.

Guest of Honour, Advocate Satwant Singh Rangi, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, shared his vast experience, encouraging young legal minds to pursue excellence in litigation.

Dean Academics, Satish Kumar Bansal, and Dean, Prof. (Dr.) Dharmender Patial played a pivotal role in organizing the event and ensuring its success.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, participants, and organizers for their dedication and contributions in making the competition a resounding success.
