Anger among the committee to remove the Jathedars of Akal Takht Sahib
KAITHAL: A special meeting of a group of Sikh Sangat was held on Saturday at Gurudwara Neem Sahib here . In the meeting, the recent decisions of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) were severely criticized. The meeting was chaired by Sardar Sharanjit Singh Sotha, the state head. Shiromani Akali Dal Haryana.
The Sikh Sangat called the SGPC's decision to remove the Jathedar Sardar Raghbir Singh of Shri Akal Takht Sahib, Sardar Sultan Singh of Shri Anandpur Sahib and former Jathedar Sardar Harpreet Singh, and described the decision of SGPC as dictatorial and Tughlaqi decree. Expressing anger against this decision, Sangat alleged that the Shiromani Akali Dal has now become a personal property of a family. After this, he also resigned from his posts.
The resigned leaders bluntly stated that they are devoted to the Akali ideology, but cannot walk with wrong decisions of SGPC .in the meeting It was resolved to raise the voice against the decision of the SGPC and decide the strategy in accordance with the feelings of the Sikh Sangat. The leaders said that this fight will continue to protect Sikh principles and democratic values.
Akali Dal Haryana leaders resigned
Several senior leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal Haryana resigned from their posts to protest the move of SGPC. Those who resigned today include Sharanjit Singh Sotha President Shiromani Akali Dal Haryana, Sukhbir Singh Mandi PAC member and Chief General Secretary, Pirtipal Singh Jhabbar Senior vice President, Kuldeep Singh Cheema Yuva Akali Dal Haryana Pradhan, Sardar Malak Singh Cheema General Secretary, Jind. Similarly, Sardar Bhupindra Singh District Head Kaithal, Sardar Pritam Singh General Secretary Akali Dal Kaithal, S. Gurmeet Singh Punia General Secretary, Haryana, Sucha Singh kamheri General Secretary, District Kaithal is also among those who resigned.
