Seven years imprisonment to two accused of attempt to murder, Rs. 36000 fine to each of them

KAITHAL: The court of District Judge Ritu YK Bahal has convicted two people in a case of attempt to murder and sentenced them to seven years' imprisonment and a fine of Rs 36, 000 each. In case of non-payment of fine, they will have to undergo additional punishment of six months. In this regard, Sanjay resident of village Buchi in this district had filed a case in Pundri police station.

DDA Jasbir Dhanda argued the case on behalf of the prosecution. He told that on January 19, 2023, the complainant Sanjay had gone to Raju's shop for electrical work at around 5 pm. Meanwhile, Surendra alias Jakhar and Babli resident Buchi came there and started abusing Sanjay and hitting him with sticks. The attackers said that they are letting you taste the joy of not resigning. Hearing the noise, Sanjay's brother Suresh came, Babli and Surendra threatened and left from there. His brother and family members got him admitted to the hospital.

It is alleged that even before this, Surendra and Babli had entered Sanjay's house and assaulted him in which Sanjay's brother Kuldeep and mother Kamala Devi were injured. A case had been registered in this regard at Pundri police station. Sanjay also alleges that the accused had tried to crush his brother Suresh with a tractor while he was going to the fields and had beaten him up, the report of which had been registered in Pundri police station. After registering a case on this complaint, the police arrested both of them and filed challan in the court.

After hearing both the parties, Sessions Judge Ritu YK Bahal found Surendra and Babli guilty of assault and attempt to murder and sentenced them to 7 years imprisonment each and a fine of Rs 36, 000 each.
