Sacrifice of brave martyrs cannot be forgotten - youth should take inspiration: Kaithal DC Preeti

KAITHAL: DC Preeti said that in the 1971 war, many brave soldiers displayed indomitable courage and led India to victory. Their sacrifices can never be forgotten. Thanks to their supreme sacrifice, we are breathing in open air today. The stories of their sacrifice inspire every Indian. Especially the youth should learn from the courage and patriotism of the soldiers.

DC Preeti was speaking on the occasion of Vijay Diwas ceremony organized at Martyr Memorial (Shaheed Smarak) here on Monday. She first visited the Martyrdom Memorial and paid floral tributes to the brave martyrs. Dr. Mahendra Singh Shah participated as a special guest. DC said that Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on 16 December in India. This day is celebrated to commemorate India's victory in the Indo-Pak war of 1971 and the formation of Bangladesh. In this war, the Indian Army and Mukti Vahini defeated Pakistani army and forced them to surrender. This day is celebrated to honor the valour, courage and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces. Their unwavering courage and patriotism ensured that our country remained safe. India will never forget their sacrifice and services. DC honored the families of the martyrs present on the spot by giving mementos.

On this occasion, Ex-Servicemen Association President Jagjit, Sargeant Dharmbir, Bhim Singh, Subedar Uday Bhan, Gopichand, Rajendra Singh, Megh Singh, Pratap Singh, Fauji Karambir, Councilor Sonia, Nar Singh Dhull, Khajan Singh, Mukhtyar Singh and other ex-servicemen and their family members were also present.
