ZIRA (FEROZEPUR): Kuldeep Singh, who was martyred while on duty at the Chinese border, was cremated today at his village Lauhuke Kalan with full state honors here today.
Punjab Freedom Fighters, Defense Services, Food Processing and Horticulture Minister Mr. Fauja Singh Sarari was present.
Gurbaksh Singh, son of Kuldeep Singh, an Indian Army soldier who was martyred, was laid to rest today with official honors at his native village Lahuke Kalan.
The martyr was saluted by Indian Army officers and troops. When the body of the martyr reached the village, the eyes of the family members and residents of nearby villages looked wet.
He is survived by his wife, 1 son, mother, elder brother and three sisters. Arriving on the occasion to pay homage to the martyred jawan, Capt. Praveen Singh said that this jawan has been martyred for the country and we are proud of the martyrdom of this jawan of the Indian Army. He said that martyrdom of Kuldeep Singh could never be forgotten.
Cabinet Minister Fauja Singh Sarari shared his grief with the family members. He said that Punjab government has announced a grant of Rs. 1 crore to the family of Shaheed Kuldeep Singh. He said that Punjab government stood by the family of the martyr and was committed to provide all possible help.
On this occasion Mr. Naresh Kataria MLA of Zira, SSP Ferozepur Charanjit Singh, District Revenue Officer Arvind Prakash Verma, S. Apart from Kuldeep Singh Bhullar, Subedar Major Kuldeep Singh, Subedar Nishan Singh, District Administrative Officer and other Indian Army personnel and a large number of people were present.
