Pastor Surinder Masih, a resident of Isangri Makhu, has been designated as the Christian Marriage Registrar for Ferozepur city and surrounding areas.

FEROZEPUR: Under Section 07 of the Indian Christian Marriages Act, 1872, Pastors Sri Pradeep Masih son of Sri Ajmer Masih, resident of 127, Church Road, Ferozepur Cantt. Pastor Surinder Masih, a resident of Isangri Makhu, has been designated as the Christian Marriage Registrar for Ferozepur city and surrounding areas.

These pastors met Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur Amrit Singh on Monday. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner said that according to the letter issued by the Local Government Department, these marriage registrars will work independently.

The expenditure incurred on the preparation and maintenance of marriage records will be borne by them at their own level and they will work with the spirit of service. In its eves, they will not be given any honor by the government.

He said that the marriage registrar will work as per the provisions of the Indian Christian Marriage Act, 1872 and will follow the rules in detail, regarding any kind of wrongdoing and if any case goes to the court, he will be personally responsible in such a case. The expenses/fees etc. of defending the court case will not be given by the government.
