Second Phase of Miri-Piri Khalsa March to Begin from Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Tomorrow
AMRITSAR: The second phase of the Miri-Piri Khalsa March, initiated under the patronage of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, will begin tomorrow, August 23, from Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo, for Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib, in accordance with Panthic traditions.
During the second phase, the Khalsa March will pass through various villages, towns and cities of the Malwa and Puadh regions of Punjab before concluding at Sri Anandpur Sahib on September 4.
Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Giani Tek Singh and other prominent Sikh personalities will participate in the march.
Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj appealed to the Sikh sangat and devotees who follow the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji to participate in the Miri-Piri Khalsa March in large numbers. He said the march is focusing on several important objectives, including propagating the principles of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, strengthening Panthic unity, promoting Sikh values, protecting youth from drug abuse and connecting them with Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and Sikh history.
He said the march also seeks to encourage people to embrace Amrit, pursue honest livelihoods within Punjab and refrain from selling their land, while motivating children to acquire education and skills. Other objectives include avoiding internal conflicts, respecting daughters, creating awareness about the declining Sikh population and cautioning the sangat against anti-Panthic thinking and expressions.
Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj said the SGPC had made commendable arrangements during the first phase of the Miri-Piri Khalsa March and was making concerted efforts to ensure successful arrangements for the second phase as well.
