KAITHAL: On the occasion of National Press Day, a program was organized by the district administration in the auditorium of the Mini Secretariat on Saturday. CTM Gurvinder Singh participated in this program as the chief guest, while DSP Sushil Prakash participated as a special guest. As the keynote speaker in this program, Dr. Abhishek Goyal from Government College gave his speech on the changing environment of media.

While congratulating media persons on National Press Day, CTM Gurvinder Singh said that media is a powerful sentinel of democracy. Media is known as the fourth pillar after judiciary, legislature and executive. Journalists not only give direction to the society through their pen but also highlight the problems, due to which the government and administration take cognizance of those problems and solve them. Journalist is a mirror of the society. He called that the media should raise the voice of the public with a positive attitude and publish correct news based on facts.

DSP Sushil Prakash said that while media acts as one of the pillars of a democratic nation, various journalists act as mirrors. The news and reports published and broadcast by you have a lot of impact. The government, administration and society take cognizance of your news and remove those shortcomings. It is necessary for the press and police to have complete coordination with each other, so that a good system can be established in the society.

Dr. Abhishek Goyal has seen a lot of changes in the field of journalism with time. Talking about print, electronic and social media, there is a competition to show the news first and at the fastest speed. Journalists should work to deliver true, accurate, reliable and quality news to the common man. Apart from this, he also shared his experience in the field of journalism and education. Similarly, senior journalists Satish Seth, Naveen Malhotra, Pradeep Harit, Lalit Sharma, Sunil Ravish also expressed their views on National Press Day and informed the Municipal Magistrate and DSP about the problems of the city.

Assistant Information and Public Relations Officer Amit Kaushik welcomed the guests and journalists and gave information about the schemes being run by the Haryana Government for the welfare of journalists. On this occasion, ICA Rahul Sharma, Accountant Ankush Sharma, Jaipal Rasulpur, Pradeep Dhull, Ravindra Shandilya, Sunil Jangra, Manoj Malik, Kamal, Jitendra Kumar, Rajendra Tanwar, Mohit Gulati, Virendra Puri, Richa Dhiman, Pravesh Bahadur, Ramesh Tanwar etc. were present.
