Drug smuggler with 209 grams of opium and 1 kg 628 grams of poppy caught by Chowki Pundri police.

KAITHAL: On one hand, as per the instructions of SP Rajesh Kalia, the district police is making the general public aware about not taking drugs, on the other hand, the crackdown on drug smugglers continues.

In this series, a drug smuggler was arrested by Chowki Pundri police along with 1 kg 628 grams of poppy husk and 209 grams of opium. Police spokesperson said that the team of Chowki Pundri police incharge ASI Rajendra Singh was present at Brahmanand Chowk Pundri during morning patrolling. Where the police got secret information from the cooperative sources that Mangal Singh, resident of Cheema Colony Pundri, sells intoxicants, poppy husk and opium near his house. By immediately raiding his house, he can be caught along with the intoxicants, stolen poppy and opium.

Showing vigilance and promptness, the police formed a raiding party and raided the house of Mangal Singh mentioned above and arrested the accused. Police reached the spot after getting information and during the search conducted as per rules in front of AETO Kaithal Rohit Kumar, 1 kg 628 grams of poppy was recovered from one polythene and 209 grams of opium was recovered from the other polythene from the bed kept in the room. A case was registered against the accused in Pundri police station and the accused was arrested by ASI Ram Chandra. The accused will be produced in court on Monday, and is being interrogated by the police.
