KAITHAL: While investigating the case of fraud of Rs 39 lakh in the name of sending a youth to America, the team of ASI Subhash led by CIA-1 in-charge SI Paras arrested the accused Surendra a resident of Fusgarh village, Karnal, now residing in Jalandhar Punjab.
Police spokesperson said that according to the complaint of Sant Lal, resident of village Kaul, his son Karna wanted to go to America. For this, he talked to his sister's son, Surendra Mehla, resident of village Phusgarh in district Karnal, his wife Asha and a man from Asha's family. The three accused said that they would send Karna to America within a month. For this, Rs 37 lakh will have to be paid. He agreed to send his son abroad and gave his documents to the accused. The accused took Rs 39 lakh in several occasions. After this, the accused sent his son from Delhi to Bangkok on 13 November 2022 and kept him roaming there for 15-16 days. Later he was sent from there to Cambodia by bus and kept in Cambodia for a month. Then from there he sent Karna to Laos and continued torturing Karna for two months.
Whenever Karna asked him to send him to America, he threatened to kill him. The accused took Karna outside and tortured him for about 5-6 months. Later the accused started demanding more money. When he refused to give the money, the accused threatened that if he did not give the money, even his son's body would not be found. The accused put a gun on Karna's temple and forced him to make a phone call and send money. With great difficulty he brought Karna back to India at his own expense. After coming here, when he asked for the money back from the accused, he threatened to kill him. Regarding which a case was registered in Dhand police station. The spokesperson said that one accused has already been arrested in the said case. Accused Surendra Veerwar was produced in the court, from where 5 days police remand of the accused was obtained for extensive interrogation.
