Says Harcharan Bains drafted his statement, he didn't read it but now I stand by it
CHANDIGARH: Seems under pressure from Sukhbir Badal, the SAD acting president of SAD Balwinder Singh Bhudar today backed out from his statement which he issued against senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia.
A statement issued by SAD late evening attributed to Bhundar said that Bikram Majithia had back stabbed Sukhbir Singh Badal. He was reacting to a statement by Bikram Majithia who rejected decision of SGPC, terminating the services of Sikh high priests, including Giani Raghbir Singh, Jathedar of Akal Takaht. Majitjhia' action is seen as revilt against Sukhbir Badal.
Soon after the statement of Bhudar ws flashed by TV channels, Bhundar denied that he had issued any harsh statement against Bikram Majithia. He said that he never use such harsh words like 'Majithia stabbed in the back'. He said that he didn't read the statement issued by SAD. He said that he only wanted to say Majithia shall not issue such a statement. He said that Sukhbir Badal had supported Majithia in his bad times.
A few minutes after talking to TV channel, Bhundar again came online and said that the written statement issued by SAD was his true statement. He said that the words 'Majithia stabbed in the back' were his words and he now confirm the statement was written by Harcharan Bains media advisor of Sukhbir Badal. He said that what ever statement is issued by party, he owns it. He refused to comment if party is contempating any action against Majithia.
The U-turn made by Bhundar has raised the question, was Bhundar not consulted before issuing the statement in his name. Is Sukhbir Badal calling the shot from behind the scene? Another question is raised that even after resigning from party, Sukhbir Badal is running the party affairs and Bhundar is just a mask.
