One woman rescued from Gym in basement, causalities expected
MOHALI: A three storey building fell down in Sohana near Mohali during excavation of basement in the adjoining plot. A Gym was located in the basement and PG for girls was located on second floor. One girl was rescued by NDRF team reached on spot to remove debris.
Senior Police and civil officials have reached on the spot and rescue operation was going on. It is expected that 4 to 5 people might be inside the Gym and it is feared some causalities might happen. Two girls living in PG accommodation are missing, the reports aid.
The district administration has called army and NDRF to start rescue operation. Punjab police teams are also helping in rescue operation. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav who reached the scene of accident said that army, NDRFG and police were involved in the rescue and debris are being removed at fast speed. He said that it is not yet known how many people were inside the building.
