BJP suppressing voices of opposition, insulting father of constitution Dr.B.R.Ambedkar: Mohindra
CHANDIGARH: Punjab Youth Congress (PYC) president Mohit Mohindra strongly condemned illegal detention of Indian Youth Congress (IYC) president Uday Bhanu Chib by Assam police at the behest of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Mohit Mohindra in a statement said that IYC president was detained in a hotel where he was staying, and police entered his hotel room at 5 AM without any court orders on Friday. He said that Uday Bhanu Chib had gone to Guwahati to protest against the death of Congress worker advocate Mridul Islam in police action against Congress workers. Islam fell victim to tear gas shell thrown by the police.
Mohindra said that Assam government run by BJP behaved in dictatorial manner and prevented the youth congress workers from raising their voice against police atrocities. He said that Mohanta was ruthless leader who spread hatred and violence to stay in power. Assam CM Mohanta was vitiating the communal harmony of Assam by his actions, he added.
PYC president said BJP was violating the constitution to set up rule India by dictatorship. He said that Congress would not allow BJP to insult father of constitution Dr.B.R.Ambedkar and will strongly oppose the BJP attempts to undermine the authority of constitution. He stated that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had in parliament ridiculed Dr.B.R.Ambedkar in utter disrespect for the dalit community. He said that BJP was exposed for its anti-dalit and anti-minority mindset. He said that even an apology by Amit Shah would not heal the wounds of followers of philosophy of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar.
