PHAGWARA: In a political drama , the Phagwara police have registered under section 323, 341, 427, 148, 149 IPC against five youths on the charges of attacking and injuring Basant Nagar Phagwara resident Vijay Kumar husband of AAP Candidate Reeta Rani(Ward 43) who was admitted in local civil hospital on Friday late evening.
The injured Vijay Kumar told the police that he was going for poll campaign with his brother Sunil on his bike number PB-36L-22431 when five youths identified as Pritam, Jatinder, Kuldip, Kulwinder and Paramjit (Congress supporters) attacked upon him with iron rods and even damaged his bike also.
Meanwhile one of the five youths Pritam Singh was also admitted in local civil hospital alleging attack upon him also, but the police did not act on his complaint.
Unfortunate drama began when AAP supporters alleged liquor distribution by congress workers while congress workers were alleging storage of liquor boxes in the house of AAP Candidate Reeta Rani and her adjoing house.
Phagwara MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal alleged that cops were openly favouring AAP and wanted search of the house of AAP Candidate to expose liquor storage, but the cops did not act.
The Situation became typical when several congress workers sat on dharna to demand search.DSP Phagwara Bharat Bhushan rushed to the. Spotto pacify the protesters, but MLA Dhaliwal alleged that SHO Satnampura Hardip Singh Maan went on ignoring their demand.
Dhaliwal in a written complaint sent to DC, SSP and Election Commission to immediately transfer the SHO Maan.
MeanwhileAAP leaders including MP Hoshiarpur Raj Kumar Chabbewal, Harji Mann ( State Spokesperson AAP), Joginder Singh Mann, Halqa Incharge Phagwara reached Civil Hospital Phagwara to take stoke of the situation and urged the police to book the attackers involved in attacking and injuring Vijay Kumar husband of AAP Candidate. Phagwara MLA Dhaliwal also alleged that SHO Maan misbehaved a congress worker Vinod@ Kaif and his women family members. The Cops are investigating the matter.
