Rayat Bahra University Observes World Kidney Day

MOHALI: Students of Renal Dialysis Therapy Technology, University School of Allied Health Sciences (USAHS), Rayat Bahra University (RBU), Mohali, along with their faculty members, commemorated World Kidney Day on the university premises. The event aimed to raise awareness about kidney health, prevention, and management of kidney diseases.

Dr. Pankaj Kaul, Professor and Dean, USAHS, emphasized the importance of educating people on good kidney health practices to prevent kidney diseases. He highlighted that adopting healthy food habits and maintaining a disciplined lifestyle can significantly reduce the risk of kidney-related ailments.

Dr. Piyali Shome, Assistant Professor of Hospital Administration, stressed the significance of World Kidney Day as an occasion to spread awareness about kidney disease and its preventive measures. Dr. Abhishek Gupta, Assistant Professor, delivered an insightful speech on kidney health awareness, while Mr. Mrinmoy Maity, Assistant Professor of Dialysis Therapy Technology, elaborated on the philosophy behind World Kidney Day.

Students actively participated in the event by creating informative and visually engaging models and posters on key topics such as kidney disease prevention, risk factors, and frequency of kidney ailments. Komal Parihar and Tajjo, B.Sc (CVT) 2nd semester students, delivered speeches emphasizing the importance of kidney health. Additionally, students displayed charts highlighting preventive strategies to reduce kidney-related health risks.
