LUDHIANA: Well-trained equitation team of 1 Pb R & V SQN NCC, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana participated in Republic Day Camp, 2025 at New Delhi. Three NCC cadets, Gourav Sharma, Sehajpreet Chahal and Utkarsh Deepak from College of Veterinary Science were selected to participate in the prestigious Event.
From 12 directorates 20 units, participated in the Equestrian Events. Girl Cadet Sehajpreet Chahal won a Bronze medal in the Novice category of Dressage event in which 25 other horses competed. She also participated in the Horse contingent which took part in the Prime Minister’s Rally. Cadet Gourav Sharma won a Bronze medal in the Novice Category of Tent Pegging event in which 20 horses participated. Cadet Utkarsh Deepak participated in the Veteran category and gave a tough fight to his opponents.
Dr. Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor commended and congratulated the cadets and staff of the NCC unit who worked hard tirelessly with the cadets and made them reach their goals.
Col. A S Shrinivas Rao, Commanding Officer of the Unit highly praised the cadets for their dedication and courage. He praised them that in spite of their hectic study routine the cadets put in a lot of sustained efforts as this sport requires continuous training. He also congratulated and praised the Associate NCC Officers Capt. Nittin Dev Singh, Lt. P.P. Dubey and the entire staff of the NCC unit.
Dr S S Randhawa, Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Dr Parkash Singh Brar, Director Students' Welfare congratulated the students and said that the students in spite of their hectic academic schedule should work hard in sports for better concentration as it also helps them to be away from distractions.
