CHANDIGARH: Guru Nanak Dev University has taken a significant step towards fulfilling the dreams of students from border and rural areas by providing them with big opportunities to study at the university with five percent incresement in seats. This landmark decision was made during the Syndicate meeting of the university held today in the Syndicate Room of the University.
Presiding over his first meeting, Vice Chancellor Prof. Karamjeet Singh emphasized his commitment to ensuring that children from these underprivileged regions receive access to higher education. To achieve this, a three-member committee was constituted to formulate a comprehensive plan for benefiting students from Border and Rural areas. The Committee recommends that 5 percent supernumerary seats each for the categories of Border Area and Rural Area candidates, subject to minimum of one seat in each course of study, may be reserved on the requried terms & conditions.
