AMRITSAR: Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology (KCET), Ranjit Avenue recently hosted a vibrant Freshers' Party to warmly welcome the new batch of students. The event commenced with a soulful Shabad Gayan, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the ushering of knowledge.
The fresher’s were greeted with an air of excitement as they participated in a series of events, showcasing their unique talents in the highly anticipated talent round. Performances ranged from singing and dancing to other creative acts, captivating the audience with their energy and enthusiasm.
In her speech, Director Dr. Manju Bala expressed her heartfelt wishes to the new students, emphasizing the importance of this new phase in their lives. She said that journey here at Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology will shape not only academic career of students but also their personal growth. She encouraged each one to embrace challenges, take initiative, and strive for excellence in all endeavors. She stated that this is a time for self-discovery and building lasting relationships. “We, as a college, are here to support your aspirations and help you grow into confident and responsible individuals, " she said. Dr. Bala also highlighted the role of innovation and teamwork, urging students to make the most of the opportunities the college provides.
As the evening progressed, the much-awaited titles were announced, with cheers echoing through the hall. Aastha Kesar from BSc Medical Technology was crowned Ms. Fresher, while Gopal Sharma from BBA received the title of Mr. Fresher. The title of Ms. Charming was awarded to Prachi Jandial from BSc Medical Technology, while Mr. Handsome went to Jaskirat Singh from BCA.
Ms. Well Dressed was awarded to Jinifor Afrin Ahmed from BSc CCT, and Mr. Well Dressed was given to Dan Musoya from BTech CSE. Ms. Talented was won by Jasika Nagpal from BTech CSE, while Harpreet Singh from BTech CSE took home the title of Mr. Talented. Akashdeep Kaur from BSc Medical Technology was named Ms. Confident, and Karanbir Singh from BHMCT was recognized as Mr. Confident. In addition, consolation prizes were awarded to Rudrani Upadhayay (BSc MLS) and Mehak Jasrotia (BSc MLS) for the girls, and Karanpreet Singh (BTech AIML) and Kartik Adiwal (BTech AIML) for the boys, for their outstanding performances throughout the event. The Freshers' Party was a grand success, filled with laughter, celebration, and new friendships. It marked a joyous start to the academic journey of the freshers, with the promise of a bright and fulfilling future ahead.
