Dharkandi to Be Developed as Trout Hub with Rs. 3.03 Crore Investment

DHARAMSALA: The Dharkandi area of Shahpur is set to become a trout hub, with a dedicated investment of ₹3.03 crore, announced Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Pathania. Addressing a public gathering during his visit to inspect development works, including the beautification of the Machhiyal pond, Pathania emphasized the importance of preserving the area's religious and cultural heritage.

He stated that Machhiyal, a site deeply connected to the faith and sentiments of the local community, will undergo beautification with over ₹50 lakh allocated for the project. Furthermore, a new Machhiyal(fish pnd) will be developed near the Shiva temple under the Sadun Panchayat. The Fisheries Department has already provided ₹16.68 lakh to the Water Power Department to initiate this project, with work expected to start soon.

Educational and Sports Infrastructure in Jwalamukhi

Meanwhile, Jwalamukhi MLA Sanjay Ratna highlighted significant developments in the education sector. Speaking as the chief guest at the annual function of Government Senior Secondary School Khundiyan, Ratna announced a ₹1 crore investment for building construction at the school. Additionally, ₹15 lakh has been earmarked for constructing a sports stadium to ensure students receive enhanced facilities for both academics and sports.

Ratna also shared the state government’s vision to establish one model day boarding school in each assembly constituency, reflecting its commitment to delivering quality education across Himachal Pradesh.

These initiatives underscore the government’s dedication to enhancing local infrastructure, fostering community welfare, and improving educational standards.
