AMRITSAR:With the announcement of contesting the elections under the banner of "Samyukta Samaj Morcha" by 22 farmers' organizations, various reactions are emerging.

Some people are justifying the decision of the farmers and some are calling this decision of the farmers highly reprehensible and fatal.
It is true that the struggle waged by the farmers 'organizations against the three agricultural laws had taken the form of a people's movement. Every section of Punjab has played its part in the farmers' movement.
Now the question arises that contesting elections is only for political parties or political leaders? No other party can contest class elections? Will the members of certain families continue to be the representatives of the people from generation to generation?

When we have been shouting and shouting for the last few years that the politicians have sunk the fleet of Punjab and society, the society has been looted and eaten. We want to get rid of traditional parties and leaders then shouldn't good people be given a chance to lead?
When we are fed up with the corrupt system then we have to come forward ourselves to save the society, Punjab and the country and bring in good people.
Whether the decision of the farmers' organizations or the leaders is right or wrong may be a different matter but I think we have to work hard to teach a lesson to the present misguided political system and leaders.
