Punjab power demand peaks -Key  appointments delayed

CHANDIGARH:The power demand in Punjab has crossed 12000 MW with an increase in
temperature and paddy plantation in full swing.
The power supply in the state on Wednesday was 2780 lakh units
(LU)with a maximum demand of 12253 MW
as Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. (PSPCL) is maintaining
8-hour power supply to tube wells. The thermal generation in
the state is around 977 LU per day as all the thermal units of
Rajpura thermal, Talwandi Sabi thermal and Goindwal Sahib thermal in the private sector are running. In the state sector, all the units of Ropar thermal and Lehra Mohabatt thermal plants are also running. The hydro generation in the state is 240LU.
During paddy season when the power demand and supply in the state is maximum but the posting of Director Generation in PSPCL and Director Technical has been delayed. The posts of Director Distribution and
Commercial was filled last week though all the four posts were advertised
at the same time.
In PSPCL the charge of Director Generation has been given to Director Finance.In PSTCL CMD Is holding additional charge of Director Techncal
