MLA Sudhir Sharma inaugurated Paragliding Accuracy Pre World Cup in Narwana

DHARAMSALA: MLA Sudhir Sharma inaugurated the Paragliding Accuracy Pre World Cup in Narwana, near Dharamshala. The five-day event started with a Havan Yagya at the take-off site, followed by the flagging off of participants by Sudhir Sharma, who also took a paragliding flight himself.

This international-level paragliding competition, the first of its kind near Dharamshala, aims to boost tourism in the region. Around 90 participants, including Indian Army soldiers, have registered for the event, which features trial flying on the first day. the event shall go upto 17th of this month.

Sudhir Sharma highlighted the security, good flight conditions, and landing facilities in the area, emphasizing the potential benefits for local employment and businesses associated with tourism. The event is considered a milestone in promoting tourism in Dharamsala , following other significant events like Cricket World Cup matches held in the region recently .

Chief guest Sudhir Sharma, who arrived at the inauguration of Paragliding Accuracy Pre World Cup, also took a paragliding flight. He enjoyed tandem flying with pilot Arvind Pal. He said that along with solo and tandem flying, tourists coming to Dharamshala will also get the opportunity to do paragliding.
