Faculty development programme on Mentoring Skills and Facilitation Skills for Rural Higher Education Institutions

AMRITSAR:UGC- Human Resource Development Centre, Guru Nanak Dev University organized 6 days offline faculty development programme on “Mentoring Skills and Facilitation Skills for Rural Higher Education Institutions”.

Prof. (Dr.) Hardeep Singh OSD to Vice Chancellor presided over the inaugural session. Prof. Sudha Jitender, Director HRDC apprised about the achievements and initiatives taken by the centre for organizing these programmes for upgrading the knowledge of the faculty. In the inaugural address, Prof. Hardeep Singh emphasized on the need to educate the women and create conducive ecosystem of education through innovative methodologies for increasing the student strength in the Schools and Institutions of Higher education. He said that the teachers need to be mentored to bring about innovative changes in their organizations through their leadership skills. He also deliberated that the teachers now need to be more technology savvy and to move hands in hand with the rural people for uplifting the economy.

Course Coordinators Prof. Saroj Arora (Dept. of Botanical and Env. Sci.) and Prof. Sandeep Sharma introduced to the programme. Mr. Samrath Sharma, Consultant MGNCRE, Ministry of Education discussed the schedule of 6 days faculty development programme with the participants. In the end, Prof. Sandeep Sharma offered vote of thanks.
