Construction of new state-of-the-art bus stand at Patiala going on full swing

PATIALA: The construction work of the state-of-the-art new bus stand being constructed by the PWD at a cost of Rs 60.97 crore near Rajpura Bypass here, is going on full swing.
Reviewing the construction work today, Deputy Commissioner Patiala Mr. Kumar Amit expressed satisfaction over the progress of the work. He directed the officials of PWD to ensure that the construction work of the bus stand to be completed within the stipulated time.
Deputy Commissioner said that this new bus stand in Patiala is a dream project of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, for the construction of which Lok Sabha Member Mrs. Preneet Kaur is showing keen interest. He said that on the directions of the Chief Minister, the construction work of this new bus stand equipped with state-of-the-art facilities was in full swing so that the residents of Patiala city and other commuters could be facilitated with all the comforts at the new bus stand.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the new bus stand to be constructed in an area of 8.51 acres, would have basement parking for transport personnel, two-wheelers, elevators, bus ramps on the ground floor, bay for buses, shops, electric Panel room, staircase, passenger compartment, workshop, oil pump, bus wash, show rooms on first floor, waiting hall, food court besides administrative block on second floor, cash and bill branch, record rooms etc. will be constructed and the solar panels will be installed on the roof.
Executive Engineer of Public Works Department (Provincial Division No. 1) Er. S.L. Garg apprised the Deputy Commissioner of the progress of the construction work started in January and assured that the work would be completed on time while ensuring quality in the construction work of the bus stand. He said that the design of the bus stand has been carefully vetted by Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh.
Mr. Garg said that at present the foundation work of exterior wall and basement is in progress and the department has posted a quality control consultant to monitor the work while the working agency has set up RCC plant at the site to expedite the work.
