Blames AAP government for deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab
CHANDIGARH: Punjab Youth Congress president Mohit Mohindra today strongly condemned the desecration of statue of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the father of constitution of India in heritage street at Amritsar. He blamed AAP government in Punjab for the shameful incident.
Mohindra in a statement said that desecration of statue of Dr.Ambedkar is not an isolated incident but result of deteriorating law and order situation in the state. He said Amritsar incident was an insult for the whole dalit samaj and the people of India who were observing Republic day when unfortunate incident took place. He said that incident had happened in the most secure area of the holy city. It is astonishing that no security personnel were present when the accused person committed the heinous crime.
PYC president said that there might be deep rooted conspiracy behind the incident and demanded a probe by sitting judge of the High Court. He stated that people of Punjab were living in constant threat to their lives and property. He said that gangsters were threatening the businessmen for extortion, murders are committed with impunity, illegal arms are smuggled into the state, the robberies and street crime have become order of the day.
Mohindra said that AAP government was spending crores on publicity to hide their failures. The image of Punjab being projected in the media campaigns is different from the ground realities. He said that Arvind Kejriwal was acting as proxy Chief Ministers of state without any accountability.
