They may flee abroad with their ill gotten wealth
CHANDIGARH: Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leaderBikram Singh Majithia today urged the union government to issue Look OutCirculars (LOCs) against the former Officers on Special Duty (OSDs) of chiefminister Bhagwant Mann – Rajbir Singh and Onkar Singh as well as the former Director (Media Relations) Baltej Pannu to ensure they did not flee the country with their ill gotten wealth.
In a statement here, the SAD leader said all three persons had been dismissed from service by the AAP high command after the downsizing of chief minister Bhagwant Mann and the take over of the chief minister’s office (CMO) by Arvind Kejriwal. “While Onkar Singh and Baltej Pannu have been dismissed, Rajbir’s resignation has been procured”.
Asserting that the aides of Bhagwant Mann were likely to flee the country, Mr Bikram Majithia said “Rajbir’s entire family has Canadian citizenship. There are widespread allegations of him being involved in hawala transactions involving crores of rupees. There are also reports of multi-crore land and show room deals. It is imperative that he should be made accountable for these acts of corruption. A central probe should be initiated in this regard. The probe should also investigate on whose behalf Rajbir was sending ill-gotten wealth out of the country”.
Majithia said similarly former Director, Media Baltej Pannu was a Canadian citizen and couldflee the country. “Pannu has a shady past and his sources of income and accumulation of wealth during his stay in India need to be probed thoroughly". He said former OSD Onkar Singh, who used to look after the chief minister's constituency Dhuri, was also involved in questionable deals which needed a thorough investigation. I appeal to the union home ministry to issue LOCs against all three. I also appeal to the centre to initiate a probe into their acts of corruption as well as probe the money trail which MOST certainly will reach the very top”.
