Two persons arrested for firing and assault

NAKODAR: The Nakodar sadar police have arrested two villagers on the charges of assaulting a person and firing in the air.

The investigating officer (IO) Sukhwindar Pal Singh said that the accused has been identified as Tarlok Singh and Simran Singh resident of Kular village.

Amolak Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police that he was going towards bus stand on July 2 when the accused waylaid and assaulted him and fired in the air.

IO said a case under sections 323(voluntarily causing hurt) 336(to endanger human life or the personal safety of others) 441(criminal trespass) and 34(committing crime with common intention) of the IPC and sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the accused and their accomplice Gurjot Singh of Kular village who is absconding.

The Nurmahal police also booked Jaswant Rai alias Tota a resident of Kandola Khurd village and Manjindar Bhatti a resident of Pasla village and their three unidentified accomplices for firing in the air and assaulting Jora a resident of Pasla village said IO Nachhatar Singh.
