Seven booked for attempt to murder, rioting

NAKODAR : The Nakodar city police have booked seven persons on charges of attempt to murder, criminal intimidation, and rioting.

The investigating officer (IO) Kulwindar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Surjit Singh son of Jagir Singh a resident of Pandori Khas village, his brothers Bahadar Singh and Gurmukh Singh, and Harcharrat Singh, Rannjodh Singh, Gurbaj Singh, and Jaswant Singh all resident of Pandori Khas village.

Simaranjit Kaue wife of Jaswant Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police that the accused waylaid her husband on November 23 in street and attacked and seriously injured him

IO said a case under sections 307(attempt to murder), 323, (voluntarily causing hurt) 341(wrongful restrain) 506(criminal intimidation), and 148 and 149 (rioting) of the IPC have been registered against the accused and further investigations are on.
