PATIALA:As per the directions of NALSA & under the able guidance of Hon'ble Mr. Justice Sh. Tejinder Singh Dhindsa, Judge Punjab & Haryana High Court-cum- Executive Chairman, Punjab State Legal Services Authority and under the supervision of Sh. Tarsem Mangla, Ld. District & Sessions Judge cum Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala, National Lok Adalat pertaining to all types of cases (except non compoundable criminal cases) was held in District Patiala. During this National Lok Adalat 6 years old case titled as M/S Nabha Power Limited Vs. Punjab State Power Corporation limited was decided through mutual settlement by the bench presided over by Sh. H. S. Grewal, Ld. Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Patiala. This case was filed on 25.09.2017. In this case total amount of Rs. 530532655 was awarded in favour of decree holder and the awarded amount was deposited in the bank account of decree holder at the spot.

Apart from this five more cases were decided through mutual settlement by the Lok Adalat Bench presided over by Sh. H. S. Grewal, Ld. Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Patiala, in which the amount of Rs.175799304/- was awarded and payment of amount was made immediately to the decree holders through Cheque/RTGS. Thus total amount of Rs. 706331959/- was awarded in this National Lok Adalat by this bench.

Further, Lok Adalat Benches presided over by Sh. Jaspinder Singh, Ld. Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Patiala and Ms. Deepika Singh, Ld. Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Family Court decided the cases relating to family disputes through mutual settlement and families were united in the courts itself.
