Finance company agent booked for cheating

NURMAHAL: The Nurmahal police have booked a finance company agent on the charges of cheating three persons of Rs 25.24 lakhs on the pretext of doubling their money within short span of time and sending one of them abroad.

The investigating officer (IO) Dinesh Kumar said that the accused has been identified as Tarlochan Singh a resident of Shidham Hari Singh village.

Rajdip Kaur wife of Manjit Singh, Nelam wife of Surindar Pal and Gurprit Singh son of Pal Singh residents of the same village complained to Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police that the accused is a agent of finance company and lured them with doubling money within a short span of time.

Rajdip Kaur said that she paid Rs 14.50 Lakhs to the accused as she was also given a promise of sending her abroad.Gurprit Singh   said that he gave Rs 9.50 Lakhs to the accused for doubling money and Nelam Rani said that she paid Rs 1.24 lakh to the accused but their money was not returned but to talk of doubling it.Rajdip said she was not sent abroad.

IO said that a case under section 420(cheating) of the IPC has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
