“Effective Sales and Marketing Strategies” seminar at KCA

AMRITSAR: The post-graduate Department of Commerce and Business Administration, Khalsa College Amritsar (KCA) organized Workshop-cum-Special-Survey Drive on “Effective Sales and Marketing Strategies for Entrepreneurs/Start-ups under GST Regime” by the Office of Assistant Commissioner State Tax, Amritsar-1 in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) The workshop was planned and executed under the supervision of Acting Principal Dr. A.K. Kahlon, Dr. Gursharan Kaur, Dr. Poonam Sharma, Prof. Meenu Chopra and Prof. Anindita Kaur Kahlon.

The Commerce students underwent field training under GST Inspectors where they learned the practical aspects of GST such as GST computation, passing a variety of GST transactions, creating GST reports, adjusting input tax credit and making GST payments. The GST inspectors, Sunil Kumar, State Taxation Inspector and Sonika, State Taxation Inspector, under whose guidance, the students are gaining practical knowledge of GST aspects, were invited to visit the department for interaction with the commerce faculty and IIC Presidents. Around 9 students from the commerce department participated in this training program.

Dr. Kahlon extended the floral welcome to the guests and emphasized the importance of such events in encouraging students to engage in a hands-on survey on GST implementation. She also thanked Pragati Sethi, Assistant Commissioner State Tax, Amritsar-1 for her immense cooperation in this training program. Dr. Sawraj Kaur encouraged students to keep participating in such events that contribute to their academic development. Dr. Gursharan Kaur addressed the students regarding the main aspects of GST with practical examples and mentioned that the event is highly informative and fosters greater understanding about the significance of GST.

Dr. Poonam Sharma introduced the distinguished guest and highlighted the primary objectives of the workshop which is to help students align their practical knowledge regarding the use of GST. Dr. Sawraj Kaur, Dr. Deepak Devgan, Dr. Samiya and Dr. A.S. Bhalla were also present in this event. Prof. Meenu Chopra, Dr. Harpreet Kaur Mehrok and Dr. Navpreet Kulaar took over the charge of media and publicity of the event.
