AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has strongly condemned the shocking attack on devotees and sewadars at Sri Guru Ramdas Niwas, located within Golden Temple .
The SGPC has urged the police administration to take strict action against the attackers and publicly disclose their identities.
SGPC Secretary Partap Singh said that , the attack occurred around noon, when a masked assailant entered Sri Guru Ramdas Niwas and suddenly began attacking devotees and sewadars with an iron rod. At the time, Sikh devotees from across the world had gathered to offer prayers on the occasion of the new Nanakshahi year.
Among the injured, one sewadar and a devotee from Bathinda sustained serious head injuries and remain in critical condition. The victims were immediately rushed to Sri Guru Ramdas Hospital (Vallah), where they are receiving treatment under SGPC’s supervision.
