MANDI GOBINDGARH: Desh Bhagat University, NAAC A+ Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab in collaboration with the Labour and Regional Employment Exchange Shimla organised a “Mega Job Fair 2024'' at Rajiv Gandhi Degree College, Kostshera, Shimla. The main motive of this job fair was to give employment to the students who had completed their graduation.
Sh. Harish Janartha MLA Shimla and Dr Gopal Krishan Chauhan principal Rajiv Gandhi Government College Shimla as Chief Guest and officer Seema Gupta special guest of the event. He was accorded a warm welcome on his arrival at the job fair by Dr. Sandeep Singh President of DBU along with Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice President DBU.
DBU Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur congratulated the selected students for the job fair.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sandeep Singh President DBU congratulated the organizers for organizing such a massive event. He shared that the motive of this job fair is to give the passing out students as well as youngsters of the nearby areas a platform to get selected in the best of the jobs in their fields. While addressing to the media, Dr Sandeep Singh shared that DBU is committed to not only the spread of education but also to optimum placements and bright future of the youth. DBU is known for the quality education, skill development and wholesome grooming of the students.
Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice President DBU said that it is a matter of great pride that Desh Bhagat University has been organizing this Job fair for the past several years, which has provided employment to thousands of students and will provide more employment opportunities in the future as well.
Ms. Pooja Kathuria, TPO shared the information that more than around 4000 candidates had registered and participated in this job fair, in which more than 35 companies were invited in which major companies include Teleperformance, CS Soft Solution, Fortis Hospital, Ivy Hospital, Mind Care, Ocean Engineering, Altrust Group, L&T Technology and others. She added that around 1000 students were shortlisted and 6 lakh per annum package was offered to the deserving candidates.
She also said that there was immense talent available in Himachal and participation of students in large numbers from across Himachal is indication of that. This is a great opportunity for students to connect with potential employers and explore career .
