Industry stalwart lauds design exhibition of RBU students

MOHALI: The Graphic Design artworks by students at Rayat Bahra University were scrutinized by industry stalwart Ravi Sharma, the renowned Art Director of the region, during the Semester End Industry Jury and Interaction. Ravi Sharma, who recently represented Tri-City at the Mumbai Art Fair 2024, was welcomed with a guided tour of the students' Design Exhibition.

Parminder Singh Roobal Head (USAAD) said that the exhibition showcased AI-based design solutions created for the campus, followed by detailed presentations by students on core design concepts and their projects addressing various branding and advertising challenges. Ravi was impressed by the progress made in just one semester, noting, “I have rarely seen students being grilled in the design basics to this extent. The practical approach of tackling real-life design problems is commendable.”

He added, “The best part is the exposure students get to the latest Design AI tools, setting them apart from the crowd.” Rayat Bahra University, a pioneer in AI-Enabled Animation and Design Programmes in India, showcased its innovative curriculum through this event.

Students cherished the interaction with the professional, who shared invaluable wisdom from his creative journey.

Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of Rayat Bahra University, lauded the works of the students at the Design Exhibition and expressed optimism that they would continue to make spectacular progress in this field.

Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh, who hosted the guest, shared the ambitious goals of the University School of Animation, Art and Design, emphasizing its pioneering role in AI-Enabled Animation and Design education in the country.
