Ashmah International School dipped in the Monsoon festival Teej with fervour

MOHALI: Ashmah International School, Sector 70 celebrated Monsoon Festival Teej to promote the rich cultural heritage of the north with great fervour and enthusiasm. The school was decorated with flowers, balloons, ribbons and posters. The corridors were decorated with various works of art by students.

Fancy dress and group song competition was organised at the moment. Young enthusiastic children beaming with joy and were looking confident to win the competition. The celebrations also included rides on swings, games and mehendi applied on their hands. Cultural shows added life to the colourful atmosphere. Even the menu of the day included monsoon special pakoras, puris, and kheer etc.

While speaking at the moment, Director J.S.Kesar lauded the efforts of the staff and students for participating with zeal and zest on this eve, which has socio- economic importance and stressed on the need to remain in touch with the culture of Punjab and preserve it.

He apprised students for making it a memorable moment as well as importance of rain for crops and nature was also told to the students .He also urged the students to give special care to the cleanliness of our surroundings during monsoon.

Principal of the school Suchi Grover said that Teej festival reflects the innermost feelings of the ladies and is a projection of the Punjabi culture. According to her, such activities are important for holistic learning experience, helping each child to develop the qualities of head, heart and hand which will make him self-reliant and a global citizen.
