KALA AFGHANA {FATEHGARH CHURIAN): On the instructions of the Punjab government, Under the leadership of Dr Himanshu Agarwal, Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur, a special camp was organized today at village Kala Afghana under the Mission 'AaBad' (Absolute Border Area Development) being run by the district administration for the development of the border area.
In addition to village Kala Afghana, residents of 15 nearby villages participated in the camp. During the camp, about 153 people were given the benefit of various welfare schemes of the government. Officials of various departments including Naib Tehsalidar Lakhwinder Singh, Paramjit kaur BDPO reached the camp and assured to solve the problems of the people.
Addressing the people in the 'AaBad' camp, Naib Tehsildar Lakhwinder Singh said that under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur Dr Himanshu Aggarwal, 'Aabad' camps are being set up, under which the district administration is committed to solving the problems of the people and doing development work in the area. He said that various government departments set up stalls in the camp and informed the people about the welfare schemes of the government and also gave the benefit of the welfare schemes to the eligible beneficiaries.
During today's 'Aabad' camp, 20 farmer credit cards were made by the Animal Husbandry Department, 10 reports were made by the Patwari/Kanungo on the spot for making caste certificates by the Revenue Department, 10 reports were made for low income certificates, 07 trainees were selected for skill training. , 15 forms were received for joining Self Help Groups, 13 forms were filled for construction of toilets by Water Supply and Sanitation Department, 4 forms were filled online for old age pension, information was given to 24 applicants by SC Corporation and Welfare Department etcs.
On this occasion, the people who reached the camp praised the 'Aabad' camp organized by the district administration and said that the benefits of all the schemes are being given by the district administration under one roof and the officials of different departments gave information about the welfare schemes, which they have got a lot of benefit. He thanked the district administration and Punjab government for this initiative.
