ATTARI(Amritsar): Shooting of the upcoming Documentary Film titled, “Attari Junction – A 161 year old Historic Railway Station” begins at the Attari Railway Station, Amritsar, this short Film will portray Historical rich architecture of this 161 year old Attari Railway Station.
This railway station is a blend of Indo-Islamic and Victorian architectural styles, arches, and ornate facades showcasing aura of grandeur and elegance of the architectural marvel of bygone era and has seldom been highlighted in any of the Heritage documentary films. This Documentary film is being Directed by Punjab’s eminent Author, Heritage Promoter & Nature Artist Harpreet Sandhu under the patronage of Sewa Sankalp Society and the script of the Documentary film has been written by Atul Tirkey, IRS Deputy Commissioner Customs, Attari and the Lyrics are penned by the famous Poet of the Country Padma Shri Dr. Surjit Patar
Today during the commencement of shooting of the short Film, “Attari Junction – A 161 year old Historic Railway Station” began with the clap board Mahurat shot by Member Parliament Amritsar Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Vice Chancellor, Deputy Commissioner Amritsar Amit Talwar, IAS, Addl. Commissioner Customs Joginder Singh, IRS, Jt. Commissioner Customs Navneet Kaushal IRS, Deputy Commissioner Customs Atul Tirkey, IRS, Director AIPL Shamsheer Singh and other Land Customs officers were present during the ongoing shooting of the Documentary film at Attari Railway Station.
Today on the commencement of Film Director Harpreet Sandhu, and Deputy Commissioner Customs Atul Tirkey, IRS, recorded their respective screen plays with brief introduction about the theme of the upcoming Documentary film.
Director of the short Film Harpreet Sandhu stated that the shooting of this Film on Attari Railway Station will highlight the prominence of this seldom visited traditional Heritage Railway station of India which connects the railway journey of two nations and is at the last stretch of the Indo – Pak Border and the necessary permission for shooting of the Documentary film has been obtained from Northern Railway, New Delhi and Land Customs Attari.
Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, gave his words of wisdom at Attari Railway Station during the Shooting of the Documentary Film "Attari Junction - 161 Year Old Historic Railway Station". He praised and appreciated the idea of Sh. Harpreet Sandhu to highlight the role of historical Attari Railway Station. He narrated his own experience of Childhood when his Father used to narrate the stories and memories of Partition and the important role the Attari Railway Station has played in those fearful times. He also stressed upon the fact that Attari Railway Station has a unique historical significance and has been instrumental in promoting trade, passenger movement and facilitating cultural exchange & tourism. Vice Chancellor, Dr Jaspal Singh Sandhu also said that, this upcoming film will be one of its kind to promote this heritage railway station at the border.
