Tiranga march by 12000 employees seeking restoration of OPS at Hissar

HISSAR: OPS Tiranga March from New Anaj Mandi to Krantimaan Park seeking the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for all government employees was held today by more than 12000 government employees including power utilities employees from Hissar, Fatehabad, Jind, Bhiwani, and Charkhi Dadri districts.

Vijender Dhariwal, state president of Pension Bahali Sangarsh Samiti (PBSS) said that are against the unified pension scheme (UPS), and New Pension scheme (NPS) and it is the old pension scheme (OPS) that we are demanding to be restored for 2 lakh government employees and social security for their families.

General secretary Rishi Nain, Anoop Lather Sr. Vice President and Swaraj Verma Mahila Wing In-charge said that we are urging people and political parties to support our demand of OPS for all employees. We are going across the state with our Tiranga march and holding protest rallies and meetings.

Dinesh Pabra, who was leading the employees’ protest in Hisar, said, “We will continue to protest against the government till our demands are not met. The government should restore the Old Pension Scheme.

Swaraj Verma In-charge ladies wing said all the employees of different departments participated in the meeting demanding restoration of the old pension scheme. Anwar Beg said that all the elected representatives MLAs and MPs take one and more pensions as per their number of tenures , but the same pension is being denied to the employees who put in more than 25 to 30 years of service .

Baljit Beniwal said that a large number of power sector employees participated in today’s Tiranga rally and served cold water and ice cream to all the participants . If the government does not agree for implementation of OPS , then in the upcoming assembly elections will vote for only those parties who support OPS.
