CHANDIGARH: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatreya paid a courtesy visit to the Hon'ble Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, in New Delhi today. During the meeting, the Governor extended a formal invitation to the Vice President to attend the International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav, scheduled to take place in Kurukshetra from November 28 to December 15, 2024.
Hon'ble Governor and Hon'ble Vice President discussed key developments in Haryana, particularly in the agriculture sector and higher education. Shri Dattatraya highlighted the strides made by farmers in conserving water through direct sowing of paddy using herbicide-tolerant Basmati rice varieties. He emphasized that the Haryana Government is committed to enhancing the well-being of farmers through various welfare schemes, which are being utilized effectively to strengthen the agricultural sector and the state as a whole.
The Governor also informed the Vice President about the state's significant progress in the field of education. He noted that Haryana has become a hub for learning, with universities focusing on skill development and moral education for students. Shri Dattatraya reiterated the government's dedication to fostering an environment of holistic growth and knowledge for the younger generation.
