KAITHAL: In view of environmental pollution, DC Preeti has appealed to the general public to give the message of environmental awareness by using minimum vehicles as per requirement. Along with this, She has also appealed to the drivers to be alert about road safety in view of fog in the morning and evening during the changing weather.
She said that environmental pollution is a very serious problem. To control this, all concerned officials should work seriously. There should be proper disposal of waste from the city on time. There should not be incidents of burning of garbage and crop residues anywhere. If anyone is found doing this, action will be taken against him as per rules. Apart from this, it should be ensured that all instructions are followed during the construction of the building and at the time of movement of building material.
DC Preeti said that high air pollution adversely affects people's health, causing serious environmental risks. Especially the health of children, elderly and people with respiratory diseases is deeply affected. She has appealed to the general public not to burn firecrackers etc and not to go out unless it is essential and to use a mask while going out.
Apart from this, DC Preeti called upon the drivers to be careful while using vehicles in view of fog. He said that visibility reduces in foggy weather due to which there is a possibility of accidents. If people drive carefully and follow traffic rules, then the journey will be safe. Drivers should maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead and keep fog lights and indicators on at all times. Also drive with headlights on low beam, as high beam reflects back and impairs visibility in fog. Avoid changing lanes and crossing traffic during fog. Don't drink and drive. They should keep the speed of vehicles slow and do not use mobile phones, music etc.
