Case registered against 11 farmers in Kaithal, police arrested 4 farmers

KAITHAL: Taking seriously the cases of burning of paddy crop residues in Kaithal district, the administration has registered case against 11 farmers. Today the police have also arrested 4 farmers in this case. The farmer who is burning the paddy residue in the fields will not be able to sell even two of his crops through the e-portal.

As per official reports, 123 cases of burning of paddy crop residues have been reported. Of these, 40 fire locations were not found, while in 63 cases the burning of paddy crop residues was found to be true and a fine of Rs 1 lakh 57 thousand was also imposed on them.

Taking this issue seriously, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vivek Bharti has instructed the officials to take strict action against those who burn stubble. Along with this, he instructed the concerned officers and employees to take their responsibilities seriously.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vivek Bharti today held a meeting of the concerned officials of the district after the video conference of Chief Secretary Dr. TVSN Prasad and gave instructions to curb the incidents of stubble burning. Deputy Commissioner Vivek Bharti said that so far 123 cases of burning of paddy crop residues have been reported in the district. Of these, 40 fire locations were not found, while in 63 cases the burning of paddy crop residues was found to be true and a fine of Rs 1 lakh 57 thousand was imposed on them. Apart from this, 11 FIRs have been registered. He said that strict action is being taken against those who burn stubble. He said that all the concerned officers should perform their duties seriously. Many schemes have been introduced by the government for the farmers for stubble management. The farmer who manages the stubble is given an incentive amount of Rs 1, 000 per acre by the government. On this occasion, ADC Deepak Babu Lal Karwa, SDM Ajay Singh, Satyawan Singh Mann, Krishna Kumar, RTA Girish Kumar, DDA Babu Lal and other concerned officers were present.

When Kaithal DSP Veerbhan was contacted in this regard, he told that his team deployed in every police station is working against the fires being in the fields by the farmers. The police is also cooperating with the Agriculture Department in this matter. So far, cases have been registered against 11 farmers in Kaithal district. The police took swift action and arrested 4 farmers so far on Sunday.
