Aam Aadmi Party announces its candidates for assembly by-elections

CHANDIGARH: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), on Sunday, announced its candidates for the by-elections to be held on November 13 in four assembly constituencies of Punjab.

Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon, who was close to Sukhbir Badal, has been made the party's candidate from Gidderbaha assembly constituency. At the same time, the party has announced the name of its old worker Harinder Singh Dhaliwal (35 years) from Barnala. The Barnala assembly seat fell vacant after former AAP minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer became MP from Sangrur. Harinder Dhaliwal has studied engineering from Swami Vivekananda Institute of Engineering and Technology, Banur. He has been with the Aam Aadmi Party since 2012.

Ishaan Chabbewal, son of AAP MP Dr Rajkumar Chabbewal, will be the Aam Aadmi Party's candidate from Chabbewal assembly seat. This seat also fell vacant after Dr Rajkumar Chabbewal became an MP from Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha constituency. Ishaan Chabbewal is a doctor by profession. He has done MBBS and MD from Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana.

AAP declared Gurdeep Singh Randhawa as its candidate from Dera Baba Nanak Assembly. Randhawa is the in-charge of Aam Aadmi Party's Dera Baba Nanak assembly constituency and is also the senior vice chairman of the Industry Board. He was also the party's candidate from here in the 2022 assembly elections.
