AMRITSAR: Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, while condemning the recent vindictive removal of Jathedars by the Akali leadership, termed it very unfortunate for the Sikh community and said that now politics is choosing religious leaders.
He said that the Akalis have continuously targeted the Jathedars after convicting them for unpardonable grave crimes and now the Akali leadership has removed the Jathedars with a sense of revenge.
He said that this has deeply hurt the hearts of the entire Sikh community and they will never forgive them.
The Cabinet Minister said that this trend of choosing and removing Jathedars from the pockets of the rejected leaders of the people reflects the sad situation.
He said that Jathedar Sahib is a highly respected figure of the entire Sikh community and such behavior towards him is unacceptable.
