Punjab Police Conducts Raids in Drug-Affected Areas of Kapurthala Under 'Yudh Nashe Virodh' Campaign

PHAGWARA: In a major crackdown on drug-related activities, the Kapurthala Police conducted extensive raids in drug-affected areas of the district under the Punjab government's 'Yudh Nashe Virodh' campaign. A significant police force was deployed to execute the operation effectively.

Talking to This Correspondent here today Senior Superintendent of Police Kapurthala, Gaurav Tura told that the Cops are adopting “EDP” i.e. Enforcement, DE-Addiction and Prevention”.

SSP Toora told that the cops are conducting surprise checking and searching for those criminals who managed to escape.He warned the drugs smugglers either leave the state or come in mainstream.

SSP however said that the police are helping those drugs addicted youths who wanted to leave the drugs adoptions.

SSP Toora while describing it as “Prevention” the cops will launch a campaign to educate the youths from the menace of drugs etc.

He stated that the action was taken following directives from Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav. The raids were carried out in both Kapurthala and Phagwara, where law enforcement officials questioned suspicious individuals and conducted thorough vehicle inspections.

S.P. Kapurthala Gurpreet Singh Gill is heading the campaign in Kapurthala and Phagwara S.P. Rupinder Kaur Bhatti in Phagwara, said SSP Toora.

He said 11 Drugs Hot Spots have been identified in the entire district Kapurthala. SSP Toora said the police could seize and attached the properties as per law of those elements who are still indulging themselves in drugs trade.

“Under this campaign, our teams are actively identifying and investigating suspected drug-related activities. Multiple police units led by SPs and DSPs have been deployed to various localities within the city, ensuring comprehensive checks at key locations, ” SSP Toora added.

The initiative marks a significant step in the state government’s ongoing efforts to curb drug abuse and trafficking in Punjab. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against those involved in drug-related offenses.
